nice day to run. As long as you have good running shoes, every day is a good day to run. Shall we run with ASICS, the pronoun of running shoes? Sound mind, sound body!
Designer 'Kiko Kostadinov', as a creative consultant for Asics, presents a new design by reprinting the 9th Nimbus, which enjoyed great popularity in the past among Asics' representative running shoes GEL-NIMBUS series. Inspired by elements of exploration and nature, Kiko redefines the sneaker's identity. The natural tone of the upper is inspired by the palette of the earth and the sea. Practical details like tongue loops add a rustic aesthetic to the sneaker. The gel structure inserted into the forefoot and hindfoot absorbs shock and provides a soft cushioning feeling.
MATERIAL UPPER: SYNTHETIC LEATHER, MESH OUTSOLE: RUBBER MIDSOLE: EVA
ASICS started in 1949 when Kihachiro Onitsuka founded Onitsuka Tiger, a basketball shoe manufacturing company in his hometown of Kobe. Onitsuka created a product that supplemented the problems of existing basketball shoes by focusing on the sucker function of the octopus. To test his products, he convinced BIIKILA ABEBE, who won gold medal in the marathon at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, barefoot, to wear the shoes he had made. After that, Abebe, who wore Onitsuka shoes, won the Mainichi Marathon, and their excellent quality was recognized.
In 1977, Onitsuka Tiger merged with GTO, a sports apparel manufacturer, and JELENK, a knitwear producer, to form ASICS. The company name ASICS comes from the first letter of the Latin phrase 'ANIMA SANA IN CORPORE SANO (Healthy mind in a healthy body)'.
